Funny Man
When Max Taylor wins the ancestral home of Callum Chance in a game of Poker, little does he realize that the game is far from over. One by one, Max's family are murdered by the Funny Man, a demonic jester with a varied and imaginative repertoire of homicidal techniques and an irreverent sense of humor. Meanwhile, Max's brother is on his way to the mansion with a bunch of hitchhikers who will be lucky to survive the night.
Why it matters
A low-budget ‘90s slasher with a demonic clown at its center, Funny Man serves up campy kills and a twisted sense of humor that’s equal parts goofy and grim.
- Practical effects deliver inventive, if uneven, kills that echo the era’s love for splatter and shock
- The titular villain channels the chaotic energy of ’80s slashers, adding a macabre jester twist to the demon trope
- Perfect for fans of B-movie horror who savor offbeat antagonists and a loose, party-house vibe
- Notorious for its rough edges and pacing, but those rough spots become part of its cult charm and midnight movie appeal
