Terms of Service
Effective: April 11, 2026
By using DreadWatch ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use DreadWatch. If you are under 18, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian. DreadWatch contains editorial content about horror films that may include descriptions of violence, disturbing themes, and mature subject matter.
What DreadWatch is
DreadWatch is a horror movie discovery platform. We help you find horror films based on atmosphere, subgenre, and other criteria, then direct you to where they're streaming or available for purchase. We do not host or stream any films ourselves.
Accounts
You may sign in with Google to access personalized features (watchlist, service preferences synced across devices). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. You may use the site without signing in — some features (like watchlists) require an account.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download data from DreadWatch
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
Affiliate links
DreadWatch participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates Program. When you click a link to a streaming service or retailer and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate links are clearly directed to third-party sites, each governed by their own terms and policies.
Film data
Film information (titles, posters, ratings, release dates) is provided by The Movie Database (TMDB). Horror attribute scores (atmosphere, gore level, pacing, etc.) are generated by DreadWatch and represent editorial assessments, not objective measurements. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but do not guarantee it.
Content warnings
DreadWatch is a platform for horror films. By nature, film descriptions, images, and editorial content may reference disturbing themes including violence, gore, psychological distress, and other mature subject matter. Use discretion.
Availability and uptime
We provide DreadWatch on an "as is" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Streaming availability data is sourced from third parties and may not reflect real-time changes.
Intellectual property
DreadWatch's design, code, editorial content, and horror attribute scoring methodology and editorial assessments are our property. Film data and poster images are the property of their respective rights holders, provided via TMDB under their terms.
Copyright and takedown
If you believe content on DreadWatch infringes your copyright, please with a description of the copyrighted work, the location on DreadWatch, and your contact information. We will respond to valid takedown requests in accordance with the DMCA.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DreadWatch shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us (which, for a free service, is zero).
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these terms or is harmful to the Service or other users.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be noted on this page with a revised effective date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Illinois.
