Satan
Sheitan
A group of young people leave a disco and bump into a shepherd who is ready to spend his night worshipping Satan.
Why it matters
A grimly atmospheric descent into rural Satanism that channels Eastern European folk horror with a minimalist, unsettling touch.
- Raw, unpolished cinematography heightens the feeling of unease and isolation in the countryside nightscape.
- A slow-burning, ritualistic narrative that favors mood and dread over conventional scares—perfect for fans of folk horror’s creeping dread.
- The shepherd’s eerie devotion evokes a disquieting clash between pagan tradition and modern youth culture.
- Not for those craving polished effects or fast-paced terror, but a compelling watch if you appreciate horror as a cultural anxiety about faith and the unknown.
