The Unrehearsed

The Unrehearsed blurs the lines between performance and reality, promising a psychological horror dive into identity crisis.

• Why it matters: Coming from indie auteur Alec Douglas, known for intimate character studies, this film taps into the classic body horror of self-transformation and psychological unraveling, echoing Cronenberg’s legacy in a modern casting office.
• What we know: The story follows an actress whose audition prep turns nightmarish as her grip on self slips, combining surreal visuals with practical effects to unsettle viewers.
• Who's involved: Featuring Avalon Greenberg Call in a demanding lead role, supported by Abby Langh and Tyson Brown, Douglas’s direction suggests a focus on intense performances over spectacle.
• The buzz: Early festival whispers praise its atmospheric tension and psychological depth, marking it as a standout in 2026’s indie horror slate.
