Blood Trails
The biker Anne has a violent one night stand with the supposed cop Chris after a minor infraction. Two days later, feeling guilty and traumatized, she decides to go hiking with her boyfriend Michael in the Whistler chain of mountains, a spot where bicycles are prohibited. When she sees Chris riding a bike, she tells Michael about her affair, and Chris unexpectedly kills Michael. Along the rest of the day and night, Anne is chased by Chris in a sick and mortal mouse-and-cat game.
Why it matters
A relentless survival thriller that twists the lone-woman-in-the-wilderness trope into a brutal cat-and-mouse nightmare.
- Stripped-down setting in the forbidding Whistler mountains amplifies isolation and dread without relying on cheap jump scares.
- Chris’s psychotic biker cop persona channels ’70s grindhouse menace with a modern indie edge.
- Practical stunts and gritty chase sequences deliver visceral tension for fans of chase-driven horror like *The Hitcher* or *I Spit on Your Grave*.
- A raw, uncomfortable look at trauma and guilt fuels the protagonist’s desperate fight, separating it from standard slasher fare.
