Hard Rock Zombies

1985 ·1h 38m · ★ 3.7 (32)

A hard rock band travels to the tiny and remote town of Grand Guignol to perform. Peopled by hicks, rubes, werewolves, murderous dwarves, sex perverts, and Hitler, the town is a strange place but that doesn't stop the band's lead singer from falling in love with a local girl named Cassie. After Nazi sex perverts kill the band to satisfy their lusts, Cassie calls the rockers back from the grave to save her, the town, and maybe the world.

Why it matters

An off-the-wall 80s horror-comedy mashup where undead rockers, Nazis, and werewolves collide in a hilariously chaotic small town nightmare.

  • A cult classic for fans of campy gore and absurdist horror wrapped in an 80s hard rock music video vibe.
  • Practical effects and over-the-top performances lean into the era’s low-budget charm with gleeful abandon.
  • Perfect for viewers who dig schlocky genre mashups and unapologetic weirdness rooted in regional exploitation cinema.
  • Not for everyone — the narrative’s scattershot and the tone swings wildly, but that’s part of its cult appeal.
