Extra Ordinary
A driving instructor must use her other-worldly gifts to save a lonely man’s daughter from a rock star looking to use her for Satanic purposes.
Why it matters
A quirky blend of supernatural comedy and heartfelt oddity that twists familiar ghost story tropes into something fresh and warmly absurd.
- Sharp Irish wit and offbeat humor carve out a niche between folk horror and screwball comedy.
- Maeve Higgins’ debut anchors the film with genuine charm amid the eccentric chaos.
- Satirical shots at satanic panic and rock star villainy offer clever genre self-awareness.
- Uneven tone and hit-or-miss jokes might test patience, but the climactic payoff delivers memorable laughs.
