A24 and Jeremy Saulnier Unveil Teaser for "Slayground," a Haunted Attraction Horror

A24 has made a surprise move in the horror realm with the release of a cryptic teaser trailer for "Slayground," directed by the acclaimed Jeremy Saulnier. Known for his intense storytelling in films like "Green Room" and "Hold the Dark," Saulnier now ventures into the haunted attraction subgenre. According to Bloody Disgusting, the teaser debuted alongside theatrical screenings of "Resident Evil" this past weekend, catching both critics and fans by surprise given its absence from prior listings

The secrecy around "Slayground" evokes the kind of viral marketing exploits that have worked wonders for films seeking to cultivate a grassroots buzz, aligning perfectly with A24's reputation for crafting unexpected horrors that hold a cultural mirror up to society's fears. First Showing highlights the chaotic energy encapsulated in the trailer, hinting at a return to Saulnier's penchant for survivalist narratives and tension.

While the teaser offers more questions than answers, the involvement of Saulnier and backing by A24 place "Slayground" as a must-watch for aficionados of atmospheric horror. As the movie's fall release approaches, the anticipation mounts for what could be both a thrilling and thoughtful addition to Saulnier's chilling oeuvre, further cementing A24's status as a leading provocateur in modern horror cinema.
