Jessica Chastain Haunts in New 'Other Mommy' Poster and Trailer

Universal Pictures has dropped a chilling new poster and trailer for "Other Mommy," showcasing Jessica Chastain in a sinister role. Directed by Rob Savage, known for indie hits like "Host," the film adapts Josh Malerman's novel "Incidents Around the House," intensifying anticipation for its October release.

As detailed by Bloody Disgusting and FirstShowing, "Other Mommy" weaves a tale of familial tension and uncanny horror, exploring the fears embodied by doppelgangers and familiar faces turned threatening. The psychological tension is palpable in the trailers, hinting at a narrative where an 8-year-old girl named Bela confronts a spectral entity resembling her mother.

Savage, who has honed a reputation for maximizing scares on modest budgets, seems poised to deliver another atmospheric hit, with Chastain's performance at the forefront. "Other Mommy," by delving into personal and supernatural horror, could resonate deeply with fans of Malerman's earlier works like "Bird Box," expanding on themes of domestic unease and paranormal phenomena.

As the horror landscape eagerly awaits this new addition, the success of "Other Mommy" could further solidify Savage's standing in modern horror while offering Chastain an opportunity to subvert her usual screen persona with menacing flair. With tickets already on sale, audiences are ready to see what monstrous surprises "Other Mommy" holds.
