Clown
A loving father finds a clown suit for his son's birthday party, only to realize the suit is part of an evil curse that turns its wearer into a killer.
Why it matters
A grim fairy tale that turns the birthday party nightmare into a visceral body horror descent.
- Practical effects by KNB EFX Group deliver some of the most grotesque and unsettling transformations in 2010s horror.
- Director Jon Watts blends suburban dread with monstrous folklore, riffing on the fear of clowns as cultural boogeymen.
- A chilling exploration of paternal anxiety — the costume doesn’t just corrupt the body, it unravels the psyche.
- Ideal for fans of body horror and creature features who appreciate when practical make-up effects take center stage over CGI shortcuts.
