Sex of the Witch
Il sesso della strega
The wealthy patriarch of the Hilton family has just died, and his heirs have gathered at the family castle to collect on their inheritances. However, it's not long before a black clad killer strikes, bumping off several members of the Hilton clan, in gruesome fashion. As the police begin their investigation, long buried secrets are revealed, including curses and connections to black magic.
Why it matters
A sleazy slice of early ’70s Euro folk horror that blends witchcraft with grindhouse sleight of hand.
- A grubby atmosphere drenched in earthy decay, capturing that vintage continental occult vibe before folk horror got polite.
- Practical effects and makeup lean into the era’s low-budget charm—watch for some memorably murky witchcraft visuals.
- Perfect for fans of cult exploitation and witchy paranoia that doesn’t overstay its welcome.
- Plot’s thin and pacing uneven, but its raw, unvarnished weirdness keeps it lodged in the “so-bad-it’s-good” pantheon.
