Summer Camp
Four American counsellors at a European summer camp must deal with the outbreak of a rage-inducing plague that starts in the animals.
Why it matters
A frantic blend of contagion horror and slasher tropes trapped in a sun-drenched summer camp setting, where paranoia and body horror collide under an oddly infectious madness.
- The film’s contagion concept is a fresh twist on possession, injecting a bizarre game of tag with deadly stakes.
- Practical gore effects elevate the body horror, even if the script stumbles on character logic.
- A sunlit, foreign camp locale contrasts nicely with the creeping dread and sudden violence.
- Best suited for viewers who appreciate low-budget horror’s rough edges and inventive infection narratives despite uneven pacing.
