The Tunnel
An investigation into a government cover-up leads to a network of abandoned train tunnels deep beneath the heart of Sydney. As a journalist and her crew hunt for the story it quickly becomes clear the story is hunting them.
Why it matters
Subterranean dread unfolds in this claustrophobic found-footage thriller that mines urban legend and government paranoia beneath Sydney’s streets.
- Masterful use of practical darkness and tight spaces to ratchet tension without cheap jump scares.
- Sharp social undercurrent: homelessness, environmental crisis, and institutional silence fuel the unease.
- For fans of Blair Witch and The Descent, but with a distinctly Australian flavor and a grounded, investigative edge.
- Natasha’s dogged journalist perspective adds texture beyond typical found-footage leads.
