Mutant Hunt
In New York City sometime in the near future, Z, the evil chairman of the Inteltrax Corporation, has taken a small army of cyborgs designed to perform hazardous tasks and altered them to kill humans for pleasure. The inventor of the cyborgs, Dr. Paul Haynes, is held captive, and his sister Darla seeks the aid of Matt Riker, an expert in high-tech weaponry and martial arts.
Why it matters
A neon-soaked, low-budget sci-fi horror mashup that pits street-level brawling against cold, mechanical menace in a near-future dystopia.
- Cybernetic killers with a DIY charm—practical effects and early digital touches capture ’80s tech paranoia before it went mainstream
- Martial arts fight scenes add unexpected physicality to the usual mutant rampage formula
- Perfect for fans of grindhouse and straight-to-video sci-fi horror looking for a guilty pleasure with heart
- A snapshot of late Cold War anxieties about corporate power and technology run amok, wrapped in pulpy, neon-lit grit
