Trick 'r Treat
Four interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: an everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the one guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank, and a bitter old recluse receives an uninvited guest.
Why it matters
A clever anthology weaving four Halloween tales into a chilling tapestry of tradition, terror, and twisted fate.
- Sam—the pint-sized enforcer in a burlap sack—binds stories with mythic lore and brutal justice.
- Michael Dougherty’s debut blends dark humor with classic horror tropes, revitalizing the anthology format.
- Practical effects and atmospheric autumnal visuals evoke vintage horror vibes without feeling dated.
- Perfect for fans of interconnected narratives, Halloween folklore, and movies that reward repeat viewings.
