Super Shark
An offshore drilling accident triggers the release of a giant prehistoric shark. When marine biologist Kat Carmichael arrives, she runs up against corporate front man Roger Wade, who plots with Stewart to disrupt her investigation. With the help of Skipper Chuck and disc jockey Dynamite Stevens, Kat tries to find a way to defeat the monster which has evolved to a state where it can walk on dry land and fly...it's the SUPER SHARK!
Why it matters
A gleefully absurd entry in the sharksploitation subgenre that trades logic for outrageous creature mayhem—and yes, that includes a flying, land-walking shark.
- For fans of gloriously dumb creature features, it delivers on ridiculous monster evolution and madcap action set pieces.
- The mech tank vs. shark showdown is a rare moment of practical effects ambition in a low-budget sea monster flick.
- Kat Carmichael’s marine biologist hero anchors the chaos with more grit than expected amid the bikini tropes and corporate villainy.
- Not for narrative coherence seekers, but a must-see for those who savor shark madness dialed to eleven and the pure joy of B-movie excess.
