1313: Bigfoot Island
On an island in the Pacific Northwest, a young woman calls to ancient spirits in order to right the wrongs inflicted on her. For this she summons the mythical beast that has long been rumored to roam the verdant forests. Nearby, a young man readies a cabin for the arrival of his friends. They’ve been coming to this place every year since they were kids, to relax and shape up before the start of a new college year. Only this time, they’re about to meet their worst nightmare.
Why it matters
A low-budget creature feature that taps into Bigfoot folklore with earnest, if uneven, enthusiasm.
- Practical effects and forested Pacific Northwest setting deliver authentic regional flavor.
- A throwback to early 2000s direct-to-video monster flicks—perfect for fans of campy cryptid horror.
- The film’s pacing and performances stumble, but its folklore angle offers a niche appeal to Bigfoot enthusiasts.
- Ideal for viewers who appreciate earnest indie horror over slick studio polish and don’t mind a few rough edges.
